There’s no music on the radio

An oldie but a goodie! This is my favorite Client track, I think. It’s from 2004’s City, though the ladies just posted the video in a Myspace bulletin so I figured it was a good time to revisit it. They’re due to release a 4th album, COMMAND but I haven’t been able to find a date. It doesn’t look like it’s coming out on Metropolis as their previous album did. Still, you can hear snippets on the band’s Myspace.
I thought 2007’s Heartland deserved more attention than it did, truthfully, and I’d certainly be hungry for some new tracks. Client seem to be one of those bands that never achieves much mainstream success but keep plugging away thanks to their loyal fanbase. Admittedly, I probably have a soft spot for them due to my love of early synthpop, but I think they make very solid albums.
Apparently, Client E left the band just after Heartland came out, and now Charlotte Hatherley (she who was of Ash) has joined as Client C. Probably just as well, I’m not really sure what Emily did in the first place, other than look good. I really liked Charlotte’s solo album, and I can’t say I’ve enjoyed any of Ash’s output since she left. Seems like a recipe for success? Though I think there are a few other new members, because I don’t recognize Charlotte in the above photo.
This remix of ‘Radio’ came out in 2006 by Cicada. He makes really solid, house-y remixes, and this one is no exception. He also did some great mixes of Depeche Mode & Editors around the same time.
