White Rose Movement Return
They’re Taxxi-less now, but it looks like White Rose Movement are planning a return of sorts for 2009.
The band's official mailing list has been trickling out new info over the last month, announcing shows with the new lineup as well as directing fans toward the band's Myspace for demos that will presumably appear on their as-yet-untitled 2nd album - their first since 2006's Kick.
Listening to the new tracks, it seems the band are experimenting with a somewhat harsher, darker sound. Not that they’ve ever strayed away from either, but I’d say they’ve eschewed disco-punk in favor of the darker side of punk and post-punk (even more Killing Joke than they were). Bigger, crunchier, dirtier guitars and maybe even a pinch more Depeche Mode (though I’ve been listening to DM all day, so I might just be hearing them in everything). Finn Vine seems to have turned his orgasmic yelps into sneering pleas.
I’m very excited to hear more! There are no current shows listed, but the last message from the band said they are currently in the studio finalizing the tracks for the new album, so I’d expect an announcement soon. In the meantime, had over to Myspace and check out the demos.

Thank god they’re back. We almost had to wait as long as we did for Franz Ferdinands new release.
I hope this album gets them a bit more noticed, they never did get the attention they deserved with Kick (an awsome album).
I’m with you buddy! I missed them.
