The Whip out today

This certainly seems like old news, but believe it or not, it isn’t. Yes, despite the fact that most of us have probably been dancing along to The Whip for at least a year now (and that’s not even taking into account the 2006 releases of ‘Frustration’ and ‘Trash’), the often confusing nature of international release dates has led to the reality that the band’s debut – X Marks Destination – is only now seeing the light of day here in the USA.
So while I’m sure most of us have this in digital form already, I doubt too many of my American friends actually paid for it. Here’s our chance to show the RIAA & record label folks that we will pay for albums we actually like (even if we downloaded them for free at first). Not that any of us would ever download something for free. No. Plus, the US version of the album includes 4 bonus tracks, including remixes by Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya Ya, Crookers & Bloody Beetroots. So there’s an added incentive for you.
If you haven’t yet heard The Whip, then this would certainly be a good time to catch up. Whether it’s the hint of a new New Order in ‘Frustration’ or the pinch of Rapture in ‘Blackout’, this bunch knows how to have fun and get you up out of your chair and onto a dancefloor. Even if the dancefloor is actually just your bedroom. Oh, and feel free to check out an email interview I conducted with the band back in 2008 right here, in which they discuss the New Order influence, among other things.
