Saturday Mixtape
Before heading out on the great American highway, I always put together a mixtape. Mix CD, iPod playlist, whatever. Regardless of the specific form, the process is the same. There’s a certain excitement and satisfaction when you stitch together seemingly dissimilar songs or artists into a workable mix. Of course, the most important thing to remember about road music is that you’ll be listening to it while driving. That might seem obvious, but when you’re hitting the road for 5-6 hours at a stretch, a poorly chosen song can seriously drag you down (and possibly put you to sleep at an inopportune moment).
With that in mind (and given the fact that I’m currently on the road), here’s a little road mix for your next getaway.
