Great Northern tour dates

Great Northern are hitting the road this May, alongside the equally delightful Dears & Eulogies. They are, of course, pumping up excitement for new album Remind Me Where The Light Is out on April 28th. The digital version of the album is available on iTunes as of this morning for only $5.99, and you can pre-order the CD or 180 Gram Vinyl at the Eenie Meenie Store. If you do pre-order the physical album (whether on Vinyl or CD form) you’ll be treated to a Great Northern tote bag w/stickers and buttons. The vinyl comes with the added bonus of a download code for a DRM-free digital version of the album. I am very much in favor of bands doing this sort of value-added packaging, especially in the face of torrents and leaks and RIAA lawsuits and iTunes. Fans need to feel like they’re getting something special, and aren’t just being squeezed for a few more bucks.

I’ve been singing this band’s praises since the Sleepy Eepee, and the new album does not disappoint in any way. If you’d like to hear it in its entirety for yourself, and you live reasonably close to Los Angeles, April 22nd is your day.
