The Faint/Ladytron

Woohoo! I’ve been working on this with my friend Matt for over 2 months, and it finally came together this week. Not only will we be DJing alongside members of The Faint (they call themselves Depressed Buttons when they DJ, har har), but the event is free! I’m pretty sure everyone can get behind free.

I so rarely get to play at a free event, so I’m quite excited. Usually, it means you’ll see a much larger crowd than you typically do at these events (Afterparties are total hit-and-miss events in AZ. Sometimes the band shows, sometimes they don’t, but you never know what kind of crowd you’ll get either way. Of course, that the show is on a Friday was something of a godsend). It can’t hurt that Club Congress is literally across the street from The Rialto, where Ladytron & The Faint will be playing, either. The club will actually be closer than your car! Who could turn down a setup like that?

In celebration and preparation of this event, here’s a nifty remix of a song off The Faint’s last album, called ‘Mirror Error’. It’s been remixed by Mikey & Beans a.k.a, Afghan Raiders. I feel like I’ve posted something by them before, but I can’t find it or can’t remember. This is what happens when you fill your brain with pointless minutiae that does come in handy for party conversation but is otherwise useless. Either way, nice mix! There are some industrial elements that are more than appropriate for The Faint, but they still keep the focus on the vocals without drowning them out with excessive effects.
