Ibiza Rocks & RTD Lineup Announced

I first mentioned Ibiza Rocks about a month ago. Ibiza is somewhat mythical to Americans – the best we’ve got is Rocky Point or Daytona or Lake Havasu, and I’m fairly certain it just isn’t the same thing. Then again, grass is always greener and all that…

At the time, only a few acts had been announced (The Kooks, Klaxons, Dizzee Rascal, etc.) but one of the more interesting events in conjunction with the fest was something called ‘Reclaim the Dancefloor’ – a sort of afterafterparty held at local dance spot Eden. They’ve now announced the lineup for RTD, and WOWZA! Not too shabby just doesn’t quite cover it. Not when you’ve got the boys from Soulwax appearing as 2ManyDJs, plus Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, Steve Aoki, Chase & Status, Boys Noize, Kissy Sellout, Pendulum, Digitalism, Brodinski, Scratch Perverts, Matt Walsh, Skream, High Contrast, Rusko, Bloody Beatroots, Benga and DIM on the bill! It’s like some kind of DJ/electro orgasm!

Another cool angle to the whole event is that they’ll be inviting promoters/DJs from several club nights in the UK to cater a specific party each week. Birmingham’s Bigger than Barry, Cardiff’s CYNT and Sheffield’s Club Pony and Threads are just a few of those invited to either curate a pool party at the hotel, a pre-party at Bar M or a whole room at RTD. I think this is a really rad idea as it will give the entire event an infusion of young blood behind-the-scenes as well as up front.

Ibiza Rocks Hotel prices from £19 per person per night based on 3 sharing a Standard Studio including a gig ticket for the Opening Party on 16 June. It also includes admission to Reclaim The Dancefloor, a gig afterparty held at Eden.
