WRM Tour Update
My favorite U.K. quintet is returning with new material for the first time in 4 years! White Rose Movement dropped a demo called ‘Bones’ on us last year, but will now release an official single from their upcoming album (no title as of now). ‘Cigarette Machine/Small And The Witches Revenge’ will be a double AA side 12-inch limited to 500 copies with hand-painted sleeves. The single will be available on June 1st from both the band’s website and independent record shops around the UK (Pure Groove, Rough Trade), as well as in digital form from iTunes.
The band will be playing a string of live UK dates culminating in a headline show at Islington Academy w/newcomers Ulterior and Romance. I wasn’t familiar with them before the tour announcement, but based on the tracks on their Myspace they sound like an appropriately dark and dramatic compliment to WRM. I’m of course jealous that these are all UK shows, but maybe both bands might hop across the pond eventually. I can dream, can’t I?
The Islington show will be followed by a ’secret’ after party with none other than Nitzer Ebb performing a DJ set. Yeah, Nitzer effin Ebb! It’s madness.
