Jack Penate ‘Be The One’
Despite being a big fan, I’ve never said much of anything about Jack Penate. Maybe because he’s become a big buzz artist, and I figured I couldn’t offer anything new or I got on a high horse and decided because everyone else talked about him I wouldn’t. Both really crap reasons, of course.
Jack’s sophomore album is due out in June, titled Everything Is New. It features production duties by Paul Epworth, so of course I love it! Mr. E knows how get the best from most any artist. Oh, and remember how I said I loved that new band Florence & The Machine? I just found out today that he’s producing them as well! I should have known.
I’m really enjoying this new track from Jack, ‘Be The One’. I can’t quite make up my mind what I think he sounds like, because it seems to change from song to song. ‘Tonight’s Today‘ almost sounded like Tom Vek funking out, but this is something else entirely. Video is great, too. It all takes place in a church, with lots of choreographed moves, heavenly lens flares, confetti and sparkly jackets.
