Bat For Lashes New US dates
The lovely Natasha Kahn has announced a new set of US tour dates (including her upcoming appearance at San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival – an appearance that booked my ticket, that’s for sure). Sadly, I’m not seeing an Arizona date, but big surprise. I’ll be seeing her at OSL anyway, so I guess I can’t get too greedy.
Bat For Lashes also announced the next single off of the incredible Two Suns is to be ‘Pearl’s Dream’. The single will arrive on June 22nd in both digital and physical formats. It’s one of the more…energetic tracks? I’m not quite sure how to put it. Ethereal yet not. The propulsive percussion isn’t quite a dance beat, but still manages to give the song a real sense of forward motion. It moves baby, it moves, that’s what I’m saying.
It comes with an appropriately bizarre video, featuring Natasha in dual roles as Pearl and what’s presumably herself. Or Pearl’s inner self. Or Pearl’s nemesis. I’m not sure explaining these kinds of things is worthwhile. There’s a wolf, some eerie body movement, theatre seating and planetary bodies delivering death rays. Point being, you watch because she’s so captivating, not because you can follow the storyline. An added benefit to the video might be how damn beautiful she is, if that’s your thing.
