Viva Machine
I wasn’t so sure about this at first. It sounded like something made for teenagers, and I haven’t been one of those for a while. I’m old now and things made for teenagers automatically set off my Grumpy Old Mandar. No, I’m not saying how long ago I actually was a teenager. None of your beeswax, thank you very much.
But you know, I gave it another few listens, and I’ve changed my mind. There’s something to this. It’s not my most absolute favorite thing EVER, but it’s fun and full of youthful energy. It strikes me as the kind of thing Panic At The Disco or Fall Out Boy are always trying at, but never quite achieve. I suspect they want to sound like this, but just can’t work it out. Leave it to the Brits, I always say.
So what am I saying? It’s not quite mallpunk, but it has a guitar that no doubt inspires jealousy in the members of AFI. It has that Biffy Clyro jackhammer feel to it, but with more synthesizers. You need to jump around like a lunatic and pump your fists as though no one were watching when it comes on. NSFW then, I suppose (unless you work a job where that kind of thing is encouraged).
If you like what you hear, the band is called Viva Machine, and they’ve just released their self-titled debut yesterday. You can download this single, ‘Earthquakes & Loveshakes’, on the band’s website by offering up your email in exchange.

PFFFT. not better than FOB or PATD by a long shot. get your facts right :/
Dunno Holly, I like them a million times better than either. I can tolerate PATD at times, but FOB is all kinds of awful.
