Papercuts – Future Primitive
I’ve said it before, but I am usually 2 months behind at any given time. As a result, I’ve been sitting on this one for far too long, and I can’t honestly drum up a decent excuse as to why. Well, maybe I’m not trying hard enough. Let’s see, I’m lazy and have an incredibly limited attention span? That works, doesn’t it? My brain is the size of a walnut? I dunno.
This video from what I assume must be the leading purveyor of blissful pop goodness, Jason Quever, a.k.a. Papercuts, came out a few months ago. I never got around to posting about it, however (see above). That’s also when his debut album, You Can Have What You Want, was released on Gnomonsong. Despite the fact that this isn’t brand spanking new, super funky fresh, hot off the press, the most cutting edge of cutting edge, it’s still worth your time or at least your ears’ time. Especially if you love dreamy 60s pop.
This remix by Ruby Suns is quite good, too. Trippy and spaced out, but in a completely different way.
