Con Men
I love when people send me something new and interesting to my email. Not that I’m complaining about all the great music that’s regularly forwarded on by artists I already know, but it’s nice to hear something and think ‘Hey, I haven’t heard this before!’.
Today’s discovery is by a project called Con Men, based out of Berlin. The other tracks up on their Myspace are pretty low-key affairs, but ‘Assurance’ is a lovely little meditation on our fickle worldviews and the nature of nostalgia that I really dug (‘It has never been worse, it will never be better/It will never be worse, it has never been better’). At times it reminds me of Black Celebration-era Depeche Mode with more focus on the warm sounds. Download and enjoy!
