It’s a shakeup!
Things are shaking up around BIYL! For nearly a year now I’ve carried on solo, with the occasional guest post from my buddies at I Am The Crime or Future Rocket Soul. Lately, I’ve been thinking that it would be nice to have another voice on the site on a regular basis, and as fortune would have it, an old friend spoke up. My buddy Mark used to write with me at the now defunct Rock Sellout, covering the UK side of the music scene. They just recently decided to close up shop, so Mark has decided to loan his musical expertise to BIYL! Please welcome him aboard!

Hi! I’m Mark from the UK. My love of music stems from an old pile of 45′s given to me when I was a kid. I had an old style Dansette which dropped the records one by one. Most of my teenage years were spent listening to and seeing bands like The Clash, The Jam, Joy Division along with the Mod revival bands Purple Hearts, The Chords etc., along with a love of Staxx, Atlantic & Northern Soul. Nowadays, I still consider myself a Mod but have a love of all genres of music, especially bands with a shoegaze element. The greatest pleasure for me as a writer is the pleasure of sharing new artists with you the readers. Over the last couple of years I have had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing such artists as Glasvegas, White Lies, Airborne Toxic Event, Raveonettes & Gary Numan, just to name a few. Hopefully, I can continue to give an insight to what’s new over here in the UK.
