Who saw that coming? Not I. It’s not really that great of a record, is it? Maybe I didn’t give it enough of a chance. She sounds 12 when she sings, which kind of turned me off of the whole thing from the start. And I didn’t really like the fact that she was going around saying she was going to win it. But hey, I suppose she’s just being honest, and that’s probably preferable to faux humility. The Mercury is notorious for left field picks every few years anyway, so we’ll have to wait and see if she’s a Suede or an M People.
PS – And what’s this business about James Allan of Glasvegas going missing? Paul Macinnes says they didn’t perform and offered multiple excuses (like gastric flu) before admitting James went missing over the weekend and no one knows where he is. ???
