The Flaming Lips on Colbert tonight
My favorite freaks will be performing for Mr Stephen Colbert tonight, at 11:30ET/8:30PST (like you don’t all watch Colbert already). They’ll be playing tracks from their latest and greatest, Embryonic. But the association with Colbert won’t end there. After the show has aired, you’ll be able to visit Colbert Nation, where they’ll have an exclusive stream of the new record, which is due in stores on October 13th.
Embryonic will come in more formats than I can count (including several packages you’ll be able to buy directly from the Lips on their website), but suffice it to say audiophiles should be satisfied with some of the high def formats that will be available.
Later this year, the band will be playing a special New Year’s show in their hometown of Oklahoma City. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, and prices will range from $10-25. Pretty reasonable, really. They’ll also be playing their annual Halloween party in Oklahoma City, March of 1,000 Flaming Skeletons, on October 24th.
