Meet Me On The Equinox
I’m one of those strange people who saw Twilight and neither fell in love with its well-worn vampire mythology nor hated it so passionately that I felt it would become my life’s work to make fun of the kiddies that did. I simply thought it was okay. It seemed like a somewhat clinical blend of Buffy and Anne Rice, and the teen angst was dialed up to 27, but it was reasonably entertaining. How could I not be entertained by the notion of the palest girl in the world coming from Phoenix, land of eternal sunshine? Of course, this is unacceptable to both the Twihards and the Twihaters, so I’m an outcast regardless.
How I feel about Twilight is more or less how I feel about the new DCFC song that accompanies the release of the new film: it feels familiar but enjoyable. It’s a pretty good alternarock song, but only a good song by DCFC standards. But it’s nothing I’d turn off if it came on the radio (people still listen to radio, right?). And as it was written deliberately for the sequel, it does seem to fit quite nicely with the film imagery and mood.
So there we are, I am once again lukewarm. I am prepared to be flamed by both Twilovers and Twispisers!

I came to comment that I'm so uninterested in both Twilight and DCFC it's not worthy of comment.
Wait a minute …
We feed off triumphs and catastrophes, but not every record can be either. Sometimes, we just have to deal with 'okay'.
