Listen I don’t take my clothes off for anyone
It seems that every 17 years or so, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ is revived and renewed for a new generation of listeners. It was an unexpected hit for Queen when they first released it back in 1975 – even in the halcyon days of prog-rock a 6-minute track that sounded like it could have come straight out of an opera house wasn’t exactly a sure bet. But the song’s quirky OTT rock opera antics managed to win everyone over anyway.
Hey, if Penelope Spheeris had her way we wouldn’t have experienced the 2nd revival back in 1992 at all. Thankfully, Mike Meyers decided to override her on that one (and apparently lots of other things, too).
Now we have this little gem from Muppet Studios. Sure, Kermit still doesn’t sound quite right, and back in the pre-Disney Jim Henson days I think they would have had the guts to sing the original lyrics, but there’s something immeasurably satisfying about seeing the Muppets back in action. And given the fact that both the song and The Muppets themselves are artifacts of the same time period, the combination feels especially right. Besides, having Animal scream ‘Mama’ over and over again is a pretty entertaining way of dancing around the missing lyric.

Let me tell you It's better than the origional….I still detest it but less than the pompous Queen. Personally i think It's the most over rated song of all time. It constantly tops polls in the UK as the greatest song of all time!!!! Why is that ??? If i was to make a definative list of the top 100 singles of all time it would not even be on the radar
Afraid I can't agree with you on this one, Mark. Always loved Queen and their ridiculous pomposity. But I can see where it wouldn't be for some. Similar to Muse in that way.
