Sweet Jane – Festive Treat
Sweet Jane are totally one of my favourite bands, hailing from Ireland I first discovered them through the brilliant E.P. Blackboots & Blackhearts. I still love my first description of them “Think Raveonettes, throw in a little Jesus & Mary Chain and then finally stir in a sprinkling of the Velvet Underground. Bring to the boil and serve hot!!”
Tonight Lydia from the band sent me a little early festive gem which I’m allowed to share with you. This reworking of “Silent Night” may well yet up end up as the B-side to the bands next single “You’re Making This Hard” slated for release on December 15th. Next April will see a debut longplayer at long last. Enjoy this and head on over to the band’s Myspace and buy some tracks to show some love back!!

Jusr recieved this from sweet Jane HQ…….We are very happy to finally announce the news that Sweet Jane have signed to Reekus Records for the release of their debut album ''Sugar For My Soul''. The 11-track debut album is scheduled for an April 2010 release with pre-release single scheduled for mid-March.
When asked about signing to Reekus Records for their debut release, Sweet Jane had this to say ''We have been in our studio with these songs, getting excited about our first album and the follow-up to our ''Blackboots & Blackhearts'' EP. A lot of labels we spoke to proposed crazy ideas of how our music should be presented or interpreted, but with Reekus they understood us and our music from the first meeting, they are such a respected label that its given us a certain confidence in knowing that working together is going to be special''.
In celebration of the signing between both parties, Sweet Jane & Reekus Records have decided to release the single ''You’re Making This Hard'' from their ‘Blackboots & Blackhearts EP’ as a taster of what fans can expect in the new year. It will be available for download from December 15th through the Reekus Records online store.
