You All Everbody
I was trying to figure out why this video gave me the heebie jeebies – beyond my lifelong struggle with aquaphobia. There’s nothing particularly scary about the premise that I could work out on a conscious level. Sure, they stole the intro from Raiders of the Lost Ark and this song sounds like every single other song they’ve ever done, but that doesn’t make it scary so much as boring. If it came on in a club I wouldn’t leave the dance floor; on the other hand, it also wouldn’t inspire me to go there.
No, I realized what was creeping me out. It was Maja Ivarsson. Allow me to offer a visual aid:

Maja has morphed into Charlie Pace in his final moments before sacrificing himself to save Claire! I can now never look at Iversson without seeing Dominic Monaghan. I mean sure, he’s got a beard and her hair is longer, but take that away and I swear they’re twins. She even starts the video in Charlie’s trademark hoodie! And you can hear The Others whispering in the forest. In fact, maybe The Sounds aren’t even a real band, and were just invented by JJ Abrams as part of a viral marketing campaign for Lost. I just blew your mind, didn’t I?
