Introducing Cal Roberts
With all these new introducing posts I am enjoying running at the moment, I ask bands to send me a short biography that I can’t find on Myspace. I think that the one from Cal is totally the best so far. There is plenty of substance to his music, lyrically reminding me of a young Billy Bragg. As Cal himself says they are songs of real life. Having checked him out there was not a track that did not take me back to halcyon days of youth.
Standout tracks for me are “Days In The Stag” and “Black Sheep”. These songs cut right to the bone! Here is Cal’s biography:
I’m Cal Roberts, 20 Year old singer songwriter from north Wales. My songs are about real life, no bullshit. I’ve played every fleapit these fair isles have to offer. I’ve also supported Pete Doherty in the UK and Europe, and I’ve shared a stage with Manchester top band, The Courteeners. I’ve recorded a BBC Funded music video and countless EPs. Check out my music at www.myspace.com/calroberts and have a lovely day. x
Cal plays Woodberry Tavern in Tottenham London this Friday in a Help for Haiti gig. Rumour has it that there maybe some pretty special guests!!
