Album Cover Of The Day

Written By: Keath on February 15, 2010 One Comment

Oh man, you just know everything written about Salvador Santana until the end of his career is going to reference/compare/name drop his dad. Even talking about the album cover brings up the subject, especially since one of Papa Santana’s best covers uses his son’s namesake.

Honestly I can’t decide if I really like this one or not, which is what intrigued me enough to post it. It looks great shrunk down to iPod screen size. The altering red shades in the font is spectacular. On the other hand, keyboards as buildings? Kinda lame. But then they’re made to look like a vintage magazine ad, which is really cool. This kid is going to drive me up the wall, I can tell already!

I’m not crazy about the vocals, but I’m feeling the funk on this song! And yeah, the keyboards as buildings is a little too literal for an album called Keyboard City, but it still looks cool.
