LostProphets Live @ Norwich UEA

Support acts Kids In Glass Houses and Sharks both seemed to go down well. I must say Kids In Glass Houses seemed to garner quite a reaction from the faithful. After what seemed an age, Ian Watkins and Co finally took to the stage, the delay due to a pint of beer being thrown over the lighting desk. This moronic act could of ruined the whole night as it meant we missed out on the fantastic laser lighting and holograms. However with just a backdrop of stage lights they launched into a full on set. Boy was it loud! The whole building shook to the foundations. I advise earplugs if you are anywhere near the front.

Jamie Oliver on backing vocals and synths has a great way of really working a crowd and although some of the bands earlier tracks are not what I would rush out and buy, the live show is infectious. After the initial shock to my system I started to buy into the LostProphets, the interaction and energy of the band had me bouncing along. I have said it before, but I am getting the new album and in “Where We Belong” they have another festival anthem.

Due to the late start and an 11pm venue curfew the show was a little shorter than others on the tour. As a live act they rock. The whole auditorium bounced in unison and erupted as the first chords of “Last Train Home ” kicked in. That along with “Rooftops” brought the house down! You know they have the energy and a real affinity with their audience, somewhat reminiscent of bands like The Clash from my youth. You won’t catch me at a festival like say Download any time soon, but I totally had a great night!! Many thanks to Shane Allen for the live shots and Anna from Media Junction for the listing. We had the only photo pass issued for this gig so the pics are exclusive!
