Album News From The Duke & The King
Having shaken all my senses in equal measure both live and on record over the last year, The Duke & The King have announced details of the follow up to Nothing Gold Can Stay. I have yet to have a review copy, but the lead single ‘Shaky’ dropping on 20th September (Loose Music) builds on the foundations laid down on the debut. Marvin Gaye meets Neil Young is such an apt description of these guys.
Earlier this year Simone underwent some serious life-saving heart surgery, and thank goodness he seems to be recuperating really well. It’s unbelievable that according to his surgeon he was running on 1/8th of the bloodflow he needed. The live shows have always been raucous, so with a fully functioning Simone hold onto your hats folks!
I have spent a couple of great evenings in the company of the band and they are set to return to the UK for some October dates, culminating in a headlining show at London’s Electric Ballroom. The aptly titled Long Live The Duke & The King will drop on 27th September. I for one can’t wait!!

I have just been listening to Shaky, their new single, released on 20th September. It’s quite an easy listening and extremely catchy tune.
The single seems really well produced, I don’t usually listen to rock music but I find myself really liking these guys.
I’m actually really looking foward to them releasing their follow up album, Long Live.
Big thumbs up from me!
