Florence on SNL
If you watched SNL last night, you were treated to the dual threat of Anne Hathaway and Florence Welch. Anne contributed to one of the funniest episodes I’ve seen in years – seriously, her Katie Holmes impression was so solid I momentarily thought I was watching the actual Katie Holmes – and Florence Welch belted as hard as she could to make the most of what was likely her first impression on many American ears. I have no explanation to offer as to why she backed up by 3 Smurfs, but let’s allow Florence her theatrical indulgences; it’s just part and parcel to the florid melodrama she’s so damn good at.
Best watch these videos as soon as you can, as NBC will come knocking at any time to have them removed! Then they’ll likely be region-locked, and that’s kind of a bummer for those of you outside the US.
